Problem: My outside fan needs help to start,(one push with a coat hanger will start it). Is there a simple solution?
Answer: Thanks so much for your interest in our website and the opportunity to do business with you! Since you can start the motor with a little push with a coat hanger I would think this might be a motor run capacitor problem, a motor winding problem or the motor bearings are tight. The motor winding problem and the motor bearing problem would require a new motor. The simplest and least expensive problem would be to test the capacitor. If you do not have a capacitor tester then you might be able to take the capacitor to a small appliance repair shop and ask them to test it for you. Please click here if you are interested in seeing the capacitors we sell. If you would like for me to recommend a motor I would need your heat pump or air conditioner’s model number. Our email address is: firstname.lastname@example.org I hope that all you need is a new capacitor and not the more expensive fan motor. I hope that you have a great day!
