Problem: Your furnace will not ignite the gas to produce heat for your home. When a furnace has a bad ignitor what I see most of the time is the following sequence of operation: 

1. Thermostat calls for heat.

2. Draft inducer motor starts.

3. Pressure switch attached by a small plastic or rubber tube senses the negative pressure produced by the draft inducer and closes.

4. Draft inducer runs for 30 seconds to a minute before you hear a gas hissing sound. The ignitor did not glow, the flame sensor (a small metal probe about 1/8" in diameter, with a white porcelain base) does not sense the flame, so after 8 to 10 seconds the hissing sounds stops with no ignition of gas to heat your home. Your furnace shuts down and goes into a lock out condition until you turn your power switch back off and on again. 

Solution: Sorry, but you need to purchase and install a new ignitor.

This an exact OEM ignitor kit for Nordyne furnaces.  The part number is #902661. This ignitor kit has optional terminal connectors  "C" and "E." You can easily slide the terminal connector you need to use on the wire ends. This ignitor looks similar to the York Round ignitor, but it is not quiet the same.  Please click the "Add to Cart" button below to purchase using a secure VeriSign Server. Please note that all the ignitors we sell are factory tested and have some burning, discoloration on the filament.

Our next ignitor comes as a kit to replace many Nordyne ignitors. The kit number is 903758. The 903758 kit is an exact replacement kit for Nordyne series G6 (and earlier models G3, G4, G5) and M2 furnaces. This kit has complete installation instructions with an adapter bracket with screws for G3RC, G4 (all), G5 (all), G3RA, G6(all), and M2 (all) Nordyne furnaces. Our next ignitor replaces many Nordyne ignitors on G6RX 220volt/50hertz Export Residential furnaces (see label below), and R4 Series Package Units. This is a 220 volt ignitor. The ignitor part number is: 903179. The ignitor is greenish in color when it is new. Below we have pictures with an opportunity for you to purchase:

Below we have the IG101 ignitor that is real similar to the Nordyne ignitor #902661 which is the first ignitor on this page. This ignitor replaces Nordyne 902661, FC007 and L38-693. I decided to include this ignitor on our site because I had several people ask me if I carried the IG101 ignitor. This is a real nice universal ignitor that accepts three different type of terminal blocks. This ignitor accepts terminal blocks "C," "D," and "E." (see chart above) This makes it real universal! If you touch the gray glass, it could shorten the life of the ignitor. Ignitors are very fragile. If you drop it or hit it against something the ignitor will easily break. Please be careful.
